Blink Of An Eye(The Father/Daughter song)
Lyrics by Alan Reed, Mike Archer, and Barry Brown
Music by Barry Brown and Mike Archer
Performed by Ten Cent Biscuit
Verse 1:
The first time I held you, was the day that you were born
You smiled a smile that just melted my heart
I held you close to me and touched your little hand
It took no time for me to understand
Life's little moments taught me the truth I didn't know
This precious gift was borrowed
Chorus:
You blink your eyes She's your baby
Clinging tight to you with all her love
You blink your eyes, She's your girl
Holding your hand as she explores the world
I begin to realize
She's grown up in the blink of an eye
Verse 2:
Too soon I'm sending you off to school
Your look of wonder melted my heart
While you learned everything you could
I watched your world expand
Your teenage years went quickly by, my girl began to shine
This precious gift was growing, I placed these snapshots in my mind
Chorus:
You blink your eyes She's your baby
Clinging tight to you with all her love
You blink your eyes She's your girl
Holding your hand as she explores the world
I begin to realize
She's grown up in the blink of an eye
Verse 3:
As we sit inside this room on this special day
It's hard for me to think that, I will give you away
But, I'm putting you in the arms of a special man
Someone who will protect you just the way I can
Chorus
You blink your eyes and she's a woman
Going out into this big world all alone
You give her hand to the man that she will marry
And now she'll start a family of her own
As her children grow you hope she'll realize
They'll grow up in a blink of an eye
Tag
You slowly start to realize
She grew up in a blink of an eye .

has been looking for the right song for her to dance with her father. I am
definitely going to get a copy of this for her to hear. You did a great job

Alan, I heard the song this morning. All I can say is WOW. It the coolest
thing I have ever heard. I lost my dad just a little over an year ago that
was one of the hardest days in my life and 3 months and one day after that
I lost my mom. So when I heard your song it made me think how lucky I was
to have the time that I did have with my father and all so made me think how
Lucky you and your daughter are to have each other. What a great dad you must
be to do something like this for her. I am sure it will be something she will
never forget. I love my mom very very much but this is nothing like the love
that a father and daughter share. Great Job and the best to your daughter
and her new life.
